Another issue plaguing the current workforce is that a lot of companies are using contractors to fill their needs.
Rather than hire someone directly and pay benefits (including vacation), employers are often using temporary agencies to prescreen candidates.
These candidates then work for the agency rather than the company they are working with.
There are very rarely any vacation or sick benefits to this sorts of contract positions.
And there are plenty of other candidates who can walk right into that job the next day.
